#lazyweb The local hackspace is putting together a team to compete in the EU's high school cybersecurity competitions (first in the country!). They have the software coaches but are looking for resources for hardware hacking.

Do you have any texts or resources to suggest?

Attached: a challenge board sent for practice. What should we try on it?

Don’t want to miss a second of the best event in social media, #MinCup23 ? Me either! Starting September 1st, search often for the hashtags #MinCup23, #MineralCup2023, #MinCup2023.

Also, you can make a #List and add @MineralCup to it. You will be notified whenever they post! I used Tooot to create a list, then added Mineral Cup to it. In the image below, you can see my Twitter Tooters list that I have added Mineral Cup to by using the 3 dot dropdown in the upper right corner and selecting “Add to List” (in Toot, I think). Cheers and see you for Mineral Cup in 16 days!

PS Use the link in the post quoted below to nominate your favorite mineral and vote for a comeback contender!

We’re getting www.MineralCup.org ready for September!

Along with blank brackets, voting info, history of the cup, & how to volunteer, what’s on your wishlist?

@andy_twosticks @amro @APoD Metallic asteroids taste like rust (iron oxide). Silicate asteroids taste like not much of anything. Carbonaceous asteroids would taste like tar, with notes of arsenic and mercury.

Do not try to eat the rocks.

Add to the list of math problems to diversify beyond endless train routes & baseball tosses:

Baby sleep.

Even into the toddler years when it’s more schedule then wake windows, naps & overnight sleep are high-stakes applied algebra.

Here’s a dreamy Scottish agate for #MineralMonday 🖤
@futurebird Aside: I’m appreciating eavesdropping on your discussions of the limits of this service on modes of expression. Thank you. 💚
The Google doodle today is of Marie Tharp — pretty neat. Marie Tharp (July 30, 1920 – August 23, 2006) was an American geologist and oceanographic cartographer who, in partnership with Bruce Heezen, created the first scientific bathymetry map of the Atlantic Ocean floor while at #ldeo #columbia in the 1950’s. Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory has a visiting researcher fellowship in her name to this day. #womeninstem #geoscience #MappingMondays https://www.google.com/?fpdoodle=1&doodle=240342495&hl=en&gl=us&ictx=3&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjciuXz0L_7AhVcFjQIHVBdA5EQPQgR

Most of you have chosen to tank abuse, positioning yourself to have the greatest exposure to to the company’s owner where you’d be both tasked with and berated for failing to carry out mercurial whims.

The fewest number of you have opted to deal with the legal consequences of those whims (or advocate for modifications to make them legal)

Just a reminder to folks that are here from bird site, please include your mastodon handles in your profile over at twitter so folks who follow you can migrate here.
