Inside Mike Cannon-Brookes’s #AGL coup

What he’s saying is we need things like community batteries at the end of the street. Individual batteries in the home. Electric cars providing power, vehicle to grid, explains IEEFA’s Bruce Robertson.

He means nothing less than turning the traditional model of electricity provision upside down.

Inside Mike Cannon-Brookes’s AGL coup

To call what happened at Tuesday’s annual general meeting of the energy giant AGL a corporate coup does not do it justice. It was really more of a desperate bid by the company’s shareholders to avoid climate-induced extinction.

@KC this is a no-brainer. Distributed power generation. Less expensive infrastructure prone to damage in storms, no widespread power outages, decoupled from industry power needs, renewable, and more resilient to attacks as there is not one single power station target. Also less exposure to the coal and oil industry which is slave to any instability overseas. Power security enhanced by an indigenous capability. Should be a legal requirement for any new housing development.
