Periodical reminder for recent migrants from the bird platform 🙋 I am still learning!!

⭐️ A favorite is a message to the sender that you like the message. Nothing more. It does not amplify.

🔂 Boost means you find the message interesting *and believe others should see it* So boost like there is no tomorrow. Be more “boost generous” than you were in the old Retweet environment. No algorithm to help.

Now boost this 😄 #boostermania #boostingworks #boost

@claesdevreese thank you kindly. I shall star this but not boost it

@claesdevreese

I use it as a "favorite" not only as "like" but I mark posts that I don't have time to read right now, but I'll find them quickly under ⭐ later...

@insights @claesdevreese
I believe that may have been the original intention, but given the way people use it in practice, we subsequently also got a separate "bookmark" button for saving posts for later. This doesn't send a notification and is much easier to use for saving posts for longer periods than trying to hunt among all the many favourites you will soon have :)
@BB @claesdevreese
Obviously it's logical to use bookmarks for bookmarks😅
I don't know why I like the stars...
@claesdevreese we need to get better words than migrants or refugees...

"boost like there is no tomorrow"
There is a tomorrow, and we care about it here. So please show a little restraint and consideration by only boosting posts you feel are truly important and positive contributions such as to be worth burning energy and attention on. I have seen similar comments from a couple of other new arrivals from Twitter, and I really cannot understand the mentality.

Take three breaths first, and then send only love ♥ ☺

@claesdevreese thank you! This helps. Most of us have ingrained algo-driven behavior that needs to change, now.
