Laying off 90% of your staff and locking them out of your offices a few days before the World cup when you need all-hands to keep the whole thing tipping up is .. a choice
@Pwnallthethings
I am sure it will be fine, like how Tesla's avoid semis and parking ballistrads.
@Pwnallthethings Working from home is banned. Also you're not allowed into the office. #JustElmoThings
@Pwnallthethings as usual, Elon shows us that more money doesn't buy the ability to make good decisions

@Pwnallthethings - How can he not see that there will be blowback on every one of his other companies? It's just wild. I'll never buy a Tesla automobile. I was considering Tesla Powerwalls for my home but there's no way in hell now.

I have Starlink currently but there's new point-to-point wifi being installed in my rural valley that is supposed to be as fast down and faster up. I'll drop Starlink in a second if it works out. The speeds have not been that great.

@Xygoat @Pwnallthethings I was considering Starlink for our cabin but instead will pay to have a line run.

@Pwnallthethings Quoth one ex-tweep to the Washington Post, "I know of six critical systems (like ‘serving tweets’ levels of critical) which no longer have any engineers. There is no longer even a skeleton crew manning the system. It will continue to coast until it runs into something, and then it will stop.”

My twitter archive is trapped on a laptop that lost its marbles. Requested another a couple days ago. Probably too late.

Hundreds said to have opted to leave Twitter over Musk ultimatum

The number of likely departures prompted Musk to ease his return-to-office edict and managers to meet to decide which engineers to ask back.

The Washington Post
@Pwnallthethings if Elon were trying to destroy Twitter what would he be doing differently?
@hanging_chad @Pwnallthethings
Cancel the block/mute options would probably be faster.
@hanging_chad @Pwnallthethings tbh just going into the data centre and pulling out every cable he can reach. Efficiency's not really his forte
@Pwnallthethings Yeah, there's been a lot of things made that could definitely be described as "choices"
@Pwnallthethings How do we know the 25% of 3700 staying are not locked inside? Remember he banned remote work. LOL
@Pwnallthethings There's a rumor that Elon's badge isn't working anymore either now. Unfortunately I think that's too hilarious to be true.
@Pwnallthethings It's a genius plan to save on the bandwidth charges. If your servers are down, there's no traffic.
@Pwnallthethings Almost as bad as Q telling FIFA "you can't sell beer" 3 days before the thing starts.
@Pwnallthethings
Don't worry, I'm sure they'll have no problems cold booting the week of Thanksgiving
@Pwnallthethings Wonder if World Cup is when it falls apart

@aneela @Pwnallthethings it’s caused some “all hands on deck” experiences in the past.

(I know quite a few people who worked at Twitter, but didn’t work there myself).

@Pwnallthethings chances that he’s even aware that the World Cup is coming?
@Pwnallthethings My goodness, I hadn't even thought of the World Cup. Although anything that gets Qatar less press is a win, I suppose.

@Pwnallthethings Thanks to Musk for busting the myth that billionaires are genius-level smart people who excel at managing a business. He is really building on Trump's good work in this area. Much needed in our times.

Locking everyone out of the office because of a botched RIF is the sort of thing the writers of The Office might have considered too absurd for Michael Scott. Yet here we are.

@Pwnallthethings Oh man I hadn't thought about the World Cup

@Pwnallthethings

Raging narcissists will burn the building down before admitting they've fucked up

@Pwnallthethings I can’t wait for the SNL skit

@Pwnallthethings

Or, locking them in... There's a story that dozens are stuck in the garage with non-functional badges. LoL

@Pwnallthethings More evidence tha Elon just wanted to burn it all down.

There doesn’t seem to be much reallocation of workloads, either. Just firing people and assuming “someone” will do that work.

@Pwnallthethings everything’s fine copium as space Karen will just ask twitter how to fix …. Oh wait
