Does anyone remember the end of The Truman Show? Where he finally leaves the set and everyone's left staring at blank TVs and wondering what to do with their lives?

No reason.

@parsley I think one of the two guards says "What else is on?"
Just sayin.
@FlohEinstein @parsley mhmm, way different story resolution. Just proved that Truman Show was only truly important to Christof. Everyone else was free and were happy to change the channel.
@parsley Years ago, I spoke to Don Niccol, whose son Andrew wrote that film. Don said there were two earlier proposed endings. Originally, Andrew was going to kill Truman. The other version was Truman going up the steps and finding himself in the middle of an exhibit about him. The blank TV probably worked better!
@parsley I had that quote stuck in my head last night and couldn't remember what it was from, thanks ๐Ÿ˜€
@parsley I love that movie. Back in the day I managed to sneak it onto the English Language curriculum at the school where I worked:blobderpy:
@parsley for some odd reason that movie felt extremely relatable. People trying to force a fake reality environment on me until I finally caught on and they realize the jig is up and I've figured it out and am standing at that door leaving the fake environment.
@parsley I remember watching that years after it came out, and being really surprised by how good it was.
@parsley SQL idea: Truman show but the main subject constantly posts on Twitter to a fake set of followers

@parsley Fantastic movie, but I saw it too young and got surveillance paranoia. I was fine with horror movies but Truman Show was too much lol

Itโ€™s one of my faves these days and I totally get that feeling after finishing a great series.

@parsley @kevinctofel Yes! But itโ€™s the way they said, โ€œSo what else is on?โ€ with a shrug that sold it. No freak out or panic after letting Truman consume them for 30+ years.
@parsley @BlackAzizAnansi
Yes! Isn't that the scene where they pick up books and start reading? Or am I remembering it wrong?
