Got up in the middle of the night to shoot the blood moon last week. Posted some digital shots then; here's one on 35mm.

So much has happened in the world it already feels like a month ago. Whew.

Canon New F-1, Tamron SP 500mm f8 Tele Macro, Fujifilm Fujicolor 200.

@gregpak oooooh that’s lovely! Have another star to go with your moon ✨🌕
@gregpak Nice! It might be cool to add 35mm shots to a digital stack to try to preserve the film grain while getting focus improvements from the size of the sample.
@gregpak
Very nice! It must have been difficult to use a fast enough shutter speed to avoid motion blur? The one time I tried with my Hasselblad, I failed miserably and also got an over-exposed moon. I guess shooting about 2 stops faster than a spot meter reading of the moon could maybe work?
@aghalides Thank you! Yeah, I tried a variety of things, and I also overexposed the moon when it was brighter earlier in the eclipse cycle. Here I think I had about a 2 second exposure at f8 (the lens has a fixed aperture). I was on a tripod, but it's a pretty slim one, so I had a few other shots at longer exposures that were much blurrier.
@gregpak the way you can see the dark as well as light spots is amazing. Did you use any tracking device, or was it a one shot? I’ve tried for the Moon with a 210mm, but man did that not work. Objects look much larger to the naked eye than they do in camera.
@julopeter Thanks for the kind words! Just one shot, from a tripod! Yeah, this is my first 500mm lens, and it makes a HUGE difference.
@gregpak love this image and colour and depth!
