Austen Barker@dan @emichael I've been working on convincing folks in my family to not buy one. Especially with other automakers in the game now. While the battery and motor tech is good, there is good reason to believe that the programming surrounding it all doesn't quite pass muster and the quality control in some cases is worse than a Nissan Versa (one of the cheapest cars you can buy).
@austen @emichael Yeah, apart from the horrifying software issues and, well, Elon... my impression is that the engineering behind the drivetrain and batteries is great. The rest of the car, not so much.
I saw a post from reddit or someplace where someone said "the steering wheel on my Tesla just fell off" and everyone else responded "oh yeah, that's happened to me three times. Don't blame Tesla for that, it happens to all cars!" and, uh, ...
