1/2 Heading out later, but as the last wave of #HurricaneNicole remnants is still moving through, I'll show you the current #BobbinLace project before I leave.

My current piece is a replica lace. I copied the pattern from this #18thCentury #calash in the Historic New England collection.

I took a class in #torchon design recently, and this was one of my projects--how to diagram the pattern and represent it.

One squirrel pulls another squirrel in a wagon loaded with Butter Chews. The ad is mounted on a board with an attached piece to fold out so it will stand on a flat surface.

2/2 So this is my calash #BobbinLace progress. This is made with white linen, which is quite stiff. I think it will be a nice trim for my wool cape that I'm working on as well (as much as I love a calash, I'm not up for that--and I need a cape).

So the plan is to make a couple of yards of this. I don't even know how much I need because I didn't finish the cape yet. I'm using the Burnley and Trowbridge short cloak pattern.

3/2 I just realized that not everyone here will know Burnley and Trowbridge yet. I have not fully reconstituted my birdsite #sewing and #craft team over here.

I bought the Saxon Green broadcloth for the cloak.
