Giving my usual indiepop a rest to listen to this classic from 1989 - still love everything about this album EXCEPT THE MISSING APOSTROPHE IN THE TITLE #prog #progrock #rock #marillion
@paulgolder Perhaps it is the end of all the Sesons as we move into permanent Summer ;)
@paulgolder brilliant album. Still top of their game
@paulgolder It could be a plural? #JamesJoyce wrote 'Finnegans Wake' and meant it as exactly that.
@mellotronworker it could be, just doesn't seem right though!
@paulgolder there is no missing apostrophe, surely. It's a statement. Not so much the end of season(s) as seasons (do) end. That's how I've always read it.
@Ant_Boardman Could be. But the song itself starts "Getting close to seasons end/I heard somebody say". Definitely a missing apostrophe here!
@paulgolder fair point. So, the question then is where should the missing apostrophe be? Just how many seasons are we talking about?  Given the apocalyptic feel, are we talking about all of them? (I do love a good lyric that is very much down to personal interpretation)
@paulgolder One of my all time favorites.
