I don't know if there are many #cars people here, but one of my many hobbies is wrenching on this 1971 Datsun 510. I've been tinkering on this car for nearly 20 years, and I love everything about it.

I've turned every bolt on this car, welded in new metal all over, put it through 3 different engine swaps... this is my art. This car is my canvas.

One important upgrade I made to my Datsun 510 was to install an in-tank fuel pump. The original engine had a carburetor, but with the SR20DET engine installed, an electric fuel pump was needed.

I carved up the stock fuel tank and welded in a fuel-pump housing from a 1995 Honda Civic. Perfect fit!

@drawks You you know, now that you mention it, I think I've always assumed the 180sx was a skyline, but... after reading up on it, I may have been incorrect!

@dmkrow Just regular jacks and stands. Nothing fancy. I've got an engine hoist (cherry picker) for the engine swaps I've done. I've got to use it again here soon; one of the lower rod bearings is blown out, so I've got some rebuilding to do.

@dmkrow Mixed bag, I suppose. Some things would probably be easier if I could get them done more quickly and without crawling under the car. But it's all good. The tools don't make the mechanic, as they say.
