Of course I had to go to the hospital today, and my caregiver's other care-person has covid 😩 We found out on our way back by a phonecall. He sees them every day for multiple hours.

I don't wanna catch it again!!

Glad we both wore masks in the hospital and the car on the ride back... but still... he's not sick (yet) so, how screwed am I? Be honest.

Not screwed.

@ZebraOnWheels There's a degree of separation in there with #COVID, so even without masks, there's no guarantee of "screwed". Masks lower the odds, though the degree depends on the type of #mask. If you're really worried, get yourself a #P100 #elastomeric mask, such as a #GVSElipse, and fit test it (you only need a portable #nebulizer and a bottle of #bitrex, or even #SweetAndLow)

@nafnlaus we wore the surgical masks they provide at the hospital. I know they do very little but they always make me take off my own 😐 ... because illogical reasons, I guess. Most people refused to wear any at the door, since it's not mandatory atm.

I normally wear FFP2 (KN95/N95) when I'm in public and we also did this the car ride back...

Thank you for the recommendations, I will have a look at the suggestions you did! 😊

@nafnlaus @ZebraOnWheels I'm so sorry to hear you are forced to downgrade your mask to (inadequate, poorly sealed) surgical in your local hospital. Good job choosing a higher efficacy mask whenever possible. Wishing you good health. 🤞

@ZebraOnWheels In 2020 my hospital's #EmergencyRoom made me do that, and wouldn't even let me wear my #N95 under their lousy #SurgicalMask.

This year though (when I went in for a procedure that was impossible to mask through), at my requests, the nurses wore N95s the whole whole time, and when the procedure wasn't going on, nobody had any issues with me being in an #elastomeric.

So I guess they're learning?
