This time I have a different kind of post. I took 3 different pictures of the #moon here, you can clearly see that when you use a tripod you take much sharper pictures. I kept my old iPhone 7 for fun and what a difference!

@potd Even without the tripod the Canon is pretty good. The old iPhone looks like a NASA photo of some strange object outside our galaxy.

Nice demonstration!

@potd I like the iphone version. looks like some yeti or ufo footage
@oleksiy maybe itโ€™s an ufo we never know ๐Ÿ˜…
@potd
Very nice๐Ÿคฉ
The first thing I had to learn about moon photography is, that the moon is moving fast. Very fast. That means that very short exposure times are necessary.
@saxbass yes itโ€™s true same with the stars

@potd What focal length did you use?

Great demonstration mate

@potd interesting results, I've only used a tripod to make sure I am still aiming at the moon when I press the shutter but typically because of the relatively high shutter speeds you wouldn't need a tripod (assuming your lens is wide open).

One thing I did learn was to disable all stabilisation options when shooting from a tripod; otherwise you may still end up with a blurry picture as the stabilisers try to correct for movement that isn't there.
