@William_1170 ooh nice. How much land and was it a productive farm? My #vineyard had been abandoned since #phylloxera hit. Old #napoleonic era #stonewalls:
@harphat Il was a productive farm until end '50 and then abandoned. Cows here ! Comté, bleu de Gex, Morbier. Currently size is a little less than 1ha. Most of the old pastures in the Haut-Bugey have been abandoned or planted with spruce or pine.
@William_1170 Are your #NorwaySpruce in Haut #Bugey being killed by spruce bark beetle? Lost about 20% here. And because it's illegal to burn we have to pay to have felled trees carted away. Sigh. #Comté is my absolute favourite #cheese. #France
@harphat Yes, you can see dry spruce everywhere. On the other hand, the forest is taking more and more place. The landscape is closing and becoming darker.
