He took EVERY opportunity to tirelessly criticize the DEMS and give insipid GOPers like Jenna Ellis, Laura Ingraham et al, a platform to air their treason in real time. In fact, so many traitors were being interviewed on his show, I just had to stop watching it. So while Maher might be having his smug, "told ya so" moment, never forget that HE was a MAJOR contributor when he didn't have to be...all for the reward of cheap laughs at democracy's expense! SHAME ON HIM!!!

@anneapplebaum He's right on this, as he is with many things, but he's part of the problem. He has pushed the culture war "wokeness" narrative frequently and for a long time.

The people voting for Republicans don't care about losing democracy, they care about trans people and school litter boxes and their wallets. Maher has given them cover by being a more liberal voice joining in their chorus.
