I am the principal of Forthcoming LLC, a publishing consultancy, & I do both practitioner and academic research on various aspects of scholarly publishing. My approach to publishing, & scholarly communication in general, comes out of anthropology, STS, & information studies. This approach is qualitative & pluralist, seeking to understand the historically conditioned, domain cultured, & serendipitously infrastructured forms that publishing takes.
