Hi, I’m Fliss Hannah. I’m a freelance, print and broadcast personal finance journalist. I have 3 young sons. I present several #bbc programmes, including Money Box, Money Box Live, Wake Up To Money and the Big Green Money Show with Deborah Meaden. I also do the Friday business news on #r4today. Pleased to be here!
@felicityhannah for journalists it may make sense for them to verify or provide verification information in their accounts. Such as profiles on news outlets dedicated websites, LinkedIn, or ournalism.co.uk profile. Just a thought.

It may make even more sense for organisations such as the BBC to have their own servers.

As for verification – anywhere where they have an already-known account would be a start. For example, mentioning in your Twitter profile or via a pinned posting works adequately with tools such as https://pruvisto.org/debirdify/ (although only one person who I follow on Twitter has done that).

Debirdify

This is a web app that helps you find out which of the people you follow on Twitter are on Mastodon/in the Fediverse already and follow all of them easily.
