Many posts on #TwitterMigrations say we shouldn't all be on larger servers as it's bad for the ecosystem, but when I browse the server list I don't see anything focused on what I want to talk about (and some specifically exclude disability advocacy 🤢)

It feels like we need a #disabilitycommunity or #NEISvoid instance, but as a relative newcomer I have no idea what's involved in making that happen and no funds to contribute

It looks like https://fedisabled.social/about is one worth looking at. I haven't seen it on the various lists, but someone elsewhere mentioned it in a message to someone else. It's bilingual English/German
@theheadofabroom sent this to a fellow NEISvoider on twitter because they were looking for a server to join and it said that the server was closed when they tried to join up. Not sure if it's closed to protect from the twitter influx or if it's something else?
@philipjames9 guessing temporarily closed for registration to avoid bumping up to needing higher cost hosting - I think the whole network has been under significant strain for the past couple of weeks
@theheadofabroom @philipjames9 I managed to migrate to fedisabled and I helped @tired_tortoise figure out how to join. Seems to be active now.
