@thegibson nope. I used third-party mobile clients: no ads, posts always sorted by date-time.
I never viewed my timeline, only accounts I curated onto my own lists. And search.
Finding it really hard to do most of that here, not sure it will work for me :-(

Mastodon supports lists. You can get a TweetDeck type view to several lists at once with Settings -> Appearance > Enable Advanced Web Interface
With Tusky, an Android app: Account Preferences > Tabs
@kamenrunner @thegibson I have it turned on but app I use does not aupport it.
Thanks for the tip, will try a different app! :-)
(I use smartphone, so not a lot of screen realestate ... but my twitter app manages it. I'll try :-)
@kamenrunner @thegibson ok, so far the suggested app is SO much better. Thanks 🙏
@kamenrunner @thegibson and I'm loving that there are favs AND bookmarks! Yay for Tusky app @Tusky

@deborahh @thegibson sounds like you were implementing some of the core design choices of Mastodon on Twitter to protect yourself. I wonder what the Twitter experience would be like today if everyone had been engaging with it the same way over the years.
@gabby @thegibson yes, I agree. And I switched to a different android app miw, so Mastodon is now feeling like a possibility for me 👍
But I can't imagine trying to recreate my network here ... waiting to see to which platform everyone goes ... if it all goes to hell in a handbasket :-) 🤞
@deborahh @thegibson @deborahh @thegibson I think that the majority of people will be looking for the most similar experience that they had before, and as such they will inevitably find the people ready to give them that. My money is on BlueSky, which I expect to have most of the same problems within 2-5 years.
Spent the morning in the park, chatting over tea with a difficult neighbour, hoping to shift the relationship.🤞
