So let's see how this site does. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I am looking for two PhD students to study the evolution of hot rocky exoplanets at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, with a focus on magma ocean interiors and atmospheres. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ‹๐Ÿ”ญ Application deadline is 1st December. Details at: https://formingworlds.space/post/phd-positions-october-2022. Please boost. ๐Ÿ™‚ #exoplanets #Astrodon #astronomy #phd

@timlichtenberg dang, that sounds great. Unfortunately, iโ€™m not qualified even the slightest bit. But would definitely read the summary of the research in a layman-level publication!

@timlichtenberg Tip: go to the Mastodon web interface and edit the post (many Masto apps donโ€™t support editing yet) to include some hashtags.

I find that on Mastodon hashtags are more important than ever. They have a tremendous reach, in breadth and in time. I sometimes get responses to posts weeks after Iโ€™ve made them and I assume itโ€™s because someone went through the hashtags.

. @timlichtenberg Replying with hashtags #exoplanets #Astrodon. Hashtags are what makes content findable on Mastodon. Good luck with the search!
@timlichtenberg I am so going to forward this to our master students here. They are real gems ๐Ÿ’Ž โœจ
@bibianaprinoth Please do, I hope to see some applications from them. :)

@timlichtenberg Oh how I wish I was studying that just to learn more about magma while in Netherlands! Alas, Iโ€™m in English/Medical Humanities which could only be related by writing about the emotional/personal experiences post magma injury. Or the stress of being a PhD candidate.

Good luck though!

@timlichtenberg
Happy to forward your issueโ€ฆhoping, that the rocky planets will do better than the birdy ones ๐Ÿ˜Ž
@timlichtenberg hot rocky exoplanets evolved at the University of Groningen?!
@nornagon From now on they do. ๐Ÿ˜‰
