Q. For any old timer mastodon tooters - is it the done thing to have multiple accounts and post relevant content in each of those, or do you usually live your entire life out in one channel? just checking my infosec peeps won’t get annoyed by dog/politics/random content??
Aris Adamantiadis @matthew_hall Same question. I consider creating an account on astrodon.social because I doubt tooting about telescopes and how bad the weather for astronomy is in Belgium will find an audience here.

jkuester@matthew_hall I have a main account that I use to follow a ton of other accts I am interested in and interact with the broader fedi community. Then I have a second account that I use to connect with close family members (using followers-only posts) since they wanted a space where our family can share more privately (and I did not want to blow up their notifications with all the posts I make from this account).
@matthew_hall The upcoming (to Mastodon) Groups feature will solve a lot of the jankyness of my setup by hopefully allowing notifications from private groups.
That being said, apps like @Tusky make having multiple accounts a breeze! ❤
Glenn Pegden @matthew_hall That's a great question. I know many of my football friends unfollowed becuase of the constant cyber-drivel and some of my cyber friends despise my political rants. Multiple accounts (well, servers, each suited to the content) could be an answer.
It kinda feel wrong, but it COULD be.
