SuperlativeC@SuperlativeC @stux I think it's a but of a deal breaker for people at the moment and I suspect its something easily fixable in settings.
Chris_Swan@MrEFinch @SuperlativeC @stux I can see people on other servers and follow ( all except one @mraharrison on his other server. Best suggestion is to ask folk for their Mastodon username. I am finding people through other people and people posting on the bird app. However, I needed a clear-out, so starting again with a smaller number of follows is fine. We can use hashtags and boost significant edu-posts to gain followers.

You can still follow people and find them via name search of their mastodon handle name. Hashtags and reblogs however are really important. Almost like a beacon to like-minded people.
