Mastodon has a very good chance of becoming the next G+ but only a very small change of becoming the new twitter. I think.

The servers just need to recover very quickly before people give up. We're talking about tens of hours, not days until the opportunity passes.

To give this a bit context, I still miss the indepth, friendly and knowledgeable discussions of G+. At the same time I know it was a network only for quite limited crowd. Niche. A social network for Android developers. I'd like to have that back. Discussions without marketing and politics.

@Lehtimaeki yea I have this wish/concern too. I think an instance for #AndroidDev would be awesome, but I also think it shouldn't be limited to just Android.

How does Mastodon draw those lines?

In G+ there was one account to many Circles.

Mastodon might be many accounts to many "Circles" (instances)?

I hope not, but I'm not sure.

@mmckenna @Lehtimaeki you just follow the people you're interested in. I'm sure some app implements (or will in the future) groups to put that people into for better organization on your side.

@Lehtimaeki Google+ was a great product that was made at the wrong company. It's was amazing social network for people who didn't want to be yelled at by random drunk strangers.

Unfortunately as such it couldn't make any shareholders happy.
