Do you know of any #mastodon (or other nodes in the #fediverse) that are primarily about bikes / active transport ?
Eric Buijs@gowin As far as know there is no server or instance primarily for bikes. Alternatively you can search with hashtags for bicycle or mastobikes. When you find an interesting person you can add this person to a list.
To create a list in the web interface go to Getting Started and then Lists. Create a new list title. Now when you find a bicycle enthusiast click on the profile menu of that person and then Add or Remove from lists.
Lastly create a column of your list by pinning it.

Right now, I already have a pinned column based on hashtags and km certain keywords, and they work fine.
I'm really surprised there's no specific instance on the subject.
Kinetix@ericbuijs @gowin I would recommend the #cycling hashtag as well, as it encompasses cycling of many wheel arrangements.
I personally, and very gently, wouldn't really recommend masto-anything as that might suggest people using anything other than mastodon aren't included.

@kinetix @ericbuijs "mastobikes" and "fedibkes" are already popular hashtags, so it's only practical for myself to add to them, to catch posts tagged with them.
But yeah, "cycling" is good!
