How long will it take to understand long COVID?

Researchers have proposed a variety of theories to explain symptoms of COVID long-haulers.

@garidin I got COVID in November 2020,before the vaccines came out. I still have some brain fog (troubles focusing on tasks, unable to read novel length books, etc) and lots of anxiety (can't sleep from feeling that if I do not consciously tell my body to continue breathing that it will stop).
@The99Pct That sounds tiring and stressful, and I am sorry that happened. Have you had trouble getting doctors to believe you, or were most of your physicians aware that some people were experiencing lingering effects?
@garidin My doc has been good. He has other patients with long COVID problems. There just isn't much he can do. I've tried a few meds for the anxiety but all make web coding difficult. To be fair, my new inability to concentrate and mentally juggle blocks of code in my head is a struggle anyway. And there is no magic "make brain work better" pill.
