Today I thought I'd share my meager #Watercolor #SwatchCard collection, starting with magentas and cool reds. I didn't like #CobaltViolet when I first tried it, but it's grown on me and since made it's way onto my #Palette. Lots of #PV19 - #Quinacridones are super versatile and vibrant, and I love them! 💖

Next up, warm reds, oranges, and browns. That #Qor #PyrrolRed was a nice find, I had been looking for a vibrant red to add to my #Watercolor #Palette that was cooler than #PR188. The #DanielSmith earth tones are very nice to work with, I like that they're super rich and luscious. 🥰 They replaced burnt sienna and burnt umber on my palette because I realized I just never use them. Out with the old, in with the new!

I have a few of these yellows on my #Watercolor #Palette, but truthfully I don't use them much... they're mostly on there for mixing purposes, haha! #Sennelier #SophieYellow just replaced the #AzoYellow that I used for a long time. I don't know that I could explain my reasoning, I just... like it better! And of course that #Qor #QuinacridoneGold... 👩‍🍳👌💋

Time for green! The whole top row made it onto my #Watercolor #Palette. I was really missing out not having #PG18 #Viridian all this time! From the bottom row, only #Qor #GreenGold and #DaVinci #PerlyneGreen made the cut. 😎🌿 Does anyone know the best hashtag for color swatches and the like? 🤔

I have almost all of these on my #Watercolor #Palette! The only one I left out was #Qor #PhthaloTurquoise since it's essentially a convenience mixture (I have both #PB15 and #PG7 on my palette). Lots of granulating #Pigments here, which I still find challenging to work with sometimes, but I couldn't pass up those unique hues!!!

I struggled to appreciate #PB29 #Ultramarine while using #WinsorAndNewton 's green shade version. I tried #MGraham 's #UltramarineBlue and instantly understood the hype. What a huge difference! #Watercolor #Pigments #SwatchCards

There really aren't a lot of violet pigments are there? My go to for over a decade has been #GrumbacherAcademy 's #PV23 #Mauve. A student grade paint! And yet I haven't met a purple yet that I've liked more. 😂 The ultramarine violet and ultramarine red (both #DanielSmith #PV15) make very pretty mixes, so they got added to the roster as well. #LunarBlack was a fun find and I'm looking forward to making some dark and moody separating mixes with it. :3 #Watercolor

@JLGribble my favourite is from a friend, who makes the paint himself. The most juicy nice Ultramarine.
