The color comparison is off. Lapis Lazuli was the old ultramarine blue before chemistry industry found out how to make it artificially.

Lapis Lazuli is the blue of kings, because it was so expensive. It's a royal blue.

Easing my way into #WorldWatercolourMonth with an experiment: two new-to-me colours, #PereleneViolet and #GreenGold, with a bit of #UltramarineBlue for darker greens. As predicted, the mix of the two new colours gave a lovely brown.

Paper is #KhadiPaper, brush from my new Rembrandt travelling set.
