oatcakeat some point i should take my #guitar out of its case and try to learn things again. i can feel it, leaning there in the corner, neglected and judging me

@oatcake if you learn, one of your songs of practice can be "Lost on you" by LP, by what I've heard it's not very difficult to play and helps a lot as practice

@Zmo i am worried about this too, my memory of last attempt was that my hands hurt all the time from trying to streeeetch
deepfriedwater@oatcake definitely the most motivating part was learning songs I really loved. if you do end up picking it up good luck! I'm an intermediate guitarist, so happy to answer questions that might come up
@deepfriedwater thank you! i am terrible at consistency but like...i have a guitar, it's a decent guitar, i like music, so let's gooooo! maybe a struggle until my hands/fingers get used to getting bent & stretched out, after that it might become a lot more fun so i hope i can force myself thru this stage 
@oatcake yeah the first part of getting callouses really sucks, if any position is causing your hand too much discomfort there's probably a better position for your hands! so don't feel like you have force anything to improve 
@deepfriedwater i was definitely playing around with hand positioning even yesterday a lot just to wrangle a d-chord, it helps knowing there's not really one 'correct' way to position and everyone's probably going to look a bit different!
ok. micro-amp still works (tho idk where the mains power pack is), tuner still works, monitor headphones found (tho not with the correct jack, sigh)
also my #guitar is totally very cool-looking even without stickers so this is all a reasonably good start in terms of possible resurrection from the #adhd hobby graveyard
