@dansup For a while, I followed a Mastodon account on Pixelfed, but when I commented on their posts, they never responded. I later learned they couldn't see the comments. I now follow that person from my Mastodon account and things work more smoothly.

Maybe the sites should be separate, to keep things more predictable? Or at least a warning that I was doing something weird would have been nice.

@dansup I posted something from pixelfed.social's web UI on my account, and I can't even see those posts from my normal mastodon accounts that's following my pixelfed account? do I need to post as a special type of post on pixelfed to be able to have the interoperability?

@dansup oh I just made another post on pixelfed and it's now showing on my other accounts' timelines, so I guess the interoperability is a recent change? thanks for the change!

@fishy @dansup I have always been able to see my posts on pixelfed.de. Your particular pixelfed instance could be set up differently though.

@dansup I tried to set this up yesterday, but couldn't make it work - I followed my pixelfed account from this account, expecting my photos to show up in my masto timeline so I could rt them to my followers, but viewing the pixelfed account would show a post count but just say "old posts not shown"

@dansup Yeah, I'll give things time to settle down and try again.

I also couldn't figure out how to find my pixelfed federated user address (or whatever that's called), so ended up having to follow my masto account from pixelfed, then follow back

@dansup Hum, just tried, but it doesn't seem to work. I have searched this account url (https://twitter.com/OSS117_Helsinki) on Mastodon and it doesn't find it. Or, did I miss something or do something wrong?
