#ClosedSource #programs are hurting #disabled people because their creators don't want, or don't have the resources to make them accessible. #OpenSource programs can, in the worst case, be made more accessible by yourself, but because anyone can contribute, it's likely there's more than just you who want to make the project #accessible.

Discord vs Riot is a perfect example of this. It's getting better, but Riot has their #a11y sorted.

It doesn't matter if Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft or anyone else have accessible projects *now*, because that requires these companies having an *active* interest in keeping them accessible. That's not the case with #FLOSS. Somebody, whoever it is, can choose to maintain the a11y if they wish.
