Dear Mastozens,

I have a bad news for anyone who follows the @ubuntunews, @moznews & @flatpakappsnews bots.

I can't afford to host these bots anymore. These bots will stop working on 1st april. Enjoy the last few days.

Thank you for following these bots.

@rcmainak Thank you for running them so far! If this is about the mere cost of hosting, you may move them to the #Wikimedia #Toolforge.

As long as there is at least one Wikimedia-related bot it will be fine (I have a few to suggest).

Help:Toolforge - Wikitech

@nemobis thank you for sharing that information with me. I'm considering moving them over to toolforge now.

Please do share your ideas with me here or in dm.

@rcmainak I suggest to start with accounts mirroring the main #RSS feeds, for instance the main English planet https://en.planet.wikimedia.org/ . Then, as time permit, I would go in this order: planets in other languages; feeds from the chapter websites (helps cover further countries and languages so that new #Mastodon users have something to follow) https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_chapters#Existing_chapters ; other active microblogs if RSS bridges can be devised. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Microblogging_handles
en.planet.wikimedia.org

@rcmainak If you need the URLs in structured format for the #Wikimedia chapter websites etc., I can try and put them on #Wikidata. For any other question feel free to ask on my talk page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Nemo_bis , where I'm faster and others from #Toolforge can easily join.
