I'm not a big blow-your-own-horn kinda guy but that pizza I made tonight was excellent and probably the best I've ever done. Everything's coming together now, I have the dough down, the oven temperature dialled in, cook time ... everything's clicking. I do really want a proper wood oven now, though.

Wishing a joyous #RoundFoodDay to you all!
@mike Is that a thing? If not, can you declare it to be one?

@uxintro I already did! It's a thing! Go eat round food and start some new traditions!

@mike Is the the 25th of Feb? Or the 4th Tuesday of Feb? Or every Tuesday?

yay

@mike I can totally recommend a wood oven. They're not particularly hard to build (or overly expensive if you're careful). The only disadvantage is the immense time to get up to temperature.
However, I think the amount of time and planning involved adds to the enjoyment of the food that you produce from it.
@dadegroot the main stumbling block here is where to locate the damn thing. So many other things need to be done before I can start on that.
@mike That's true. Took me a few years to work out where I wanted it, and then to prep the site.
@mike I've often thought a small one on a cart would be cool. You could then move it where-ever you needed it to be.

@dadegroot I've seen similar things around, but they always look kinda small. I think once you get to a decent size you'd need a crazy amount of engineering to support it on wheels.

Maybe tank treads are the answer ...

@mike true. Mine is not massive but would easily be over a ton.
@dadegroot @mike you mean like the portable #mudOven that was featured on #Townsends a while ago? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi-hih-dNOc
