On #Mastodon we all are equal.
No person is โhigher in ranksโ or better than everyone else, our point is exactly the opposite.
We want equality right?
#mastodon has plenty of methods to prove who you are on other platforms, we donโt need a tick badge for that ๐
Of course you can use it, if you want to mock the #birdsite verification policy ๐คฃ

I have added my website also to my profile and the link was verified with #mastodon along with my #twitter profile.
See the tick marks at both areas. So this is how #mastodon ensures your authenticity.

Vivek Prasad@jamewils , I laud the sentiment in favour of equality, but the original purpose of that tick mark sign was to distinguish the original account of a public figure from prospective frauds who might seek to malign that figure by misusing his/her name from a fake account.
But then again, I guess Mastodon does not have a verification process in place so it doesn't make sense to have that sign. However, when mastodon does come up with a verification process, one would be well advised to avail it!
@vivekprasad please see the following tweet. You can link your social media accounts or webpage and get them "verified" rather than adding tick to your handle
