I just gave this response to a reporter from Outlook :-

Twitter, of late, was behaving unfairly. It was showing a clear bias in favor of RW handles. Especially, abusive & hate spreading handles of BJP's IT Cell. When Adv. Sanjay Hegde's account was suspended for the second time, upon mass and co-ordinated reporting by the IT Cell handles, that too, for a 2017 tweet - that - came as a shock to a lot of people who are on Twitter to restore the voices of sanity and reason. 1/n

So #Hashtag #RestoreSanjayUvacha was trended. But Twitter did not take cognizance. Next day - a lot of people boycotted twitter for 24 hrs. Even that did not work. Only after Adv. Hegde sent a legal notice -

posted a response. It was false, convoluted and meaningless. It worked as a straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. BY this time folks like @naukarsha

had been looking out for an alternative. #Mastodon offered one such alternative. 2/n

All of us got there. It is an open source platform. It has the feel of old Twitter w/o the hate mongering / abusive RW handles. So we decided to call people from Twitter to shift there. The response has been amazing. 3/n

As of now, all the rational voices, legal eagles, policy wonks, a lot of media persons, historians, tech enthusiasts & ordinary folks who are tired of the inaction of Twitter against the hate spreaders - have already logged onto #Mastodon . It seems that everyone has liked the platform. I expect people to eventually abandon Twitter for good. At least I may do so in some time. 4/4

@AdvManoj you know what..when u come here from Twitter you feel as if u are in a different world! Old world charm with no abusive stuff. I hope and I pray it remains like this.
