How many of you haven’t posted in bird site at all since yesterday? Are you happy you are going back today? How has your experience been?

I haven’t, My experience with our people & help I received from mastodon community for Newbie like us has been very pleasant. It definitely felt like users matter here. In bird app it’s like nobody cares, I like the community so far and I will continue using this app and posting exclusive content here while also using there. I miss QT function & bookmarks

@Deepsealioness Not posted yet on the #BirdSty. I was mostly there for the news feed, the court updates, the tech stream, the scientific stuff, etc. I miss that the most.

@Deepsealioness I haven't posted at all since yest 12 noon.
Will go back today - but I expect that over time, I will engage less and less there, and more and more here. Depends on how this place evolves. My main issue is one of principle, against BirdsiteIndia. I don't want to encourage that platform anymore.
Been a very pleasant experience here so far.

@Deepsealioness I just need 100% affirmation that this site is static and will be firmly rooted. Right now, though experience on Mastodon has been great, there have been conflicting views, mostly because it's very tech oriented here. Their application info and instruction lingo is bit tough for non techies to understand.

@Deepsealioness That's the thing. So many instances, and admins. How does one choose? Also move from one instance to another collectively? And how does an instance ensure that it will stay for a long haul coz there have been instances that have closed shop. Users lose all their toots then.

I hv completely stayed off BirdShite since yday. I might've complained abt d eerie quiet here early on bt I'm loving it now 💗

Pros:
1. Far more intimate
2. Non-toxic (unless u happen to be @Deepsealioness n hv trolls baying for ur blood already 😅)
3. The freedom from d numbers game (likes, RTs, impressions etc) n silly BirdShite algorithms dat can arbitraryly boost/throttle ur reach 💪

Cons:
1. Bookmarks missing
2. Latest news/trends are tougher to track here 😒

@Deepsealioness Nope, I haven't. Will go after 12 and see what has happened. Would like to explore Mastodon more and eventually quit Twitter. It has been getting increasingly suffocating there what with many sane handles facing Twitter's unfair curbs.
