#YouTubeMusicGems OK this is amazing. I had to look it up. This is Rebbie Jackson, a younger Jackson sibling, in the #music #video for the title track of her 1984 debut album "Centipede." It features Rebbie as a shape-shifting sorceress who has been trapped in a painting, lines of faceless men in tuxedos with red bow ties, lots of lightning, and a centipede. I don't know why. It's marvelous.

Luciano Pavarotti did a bunch of wild collaborations back in the day, e.g. This mash-up of "It's A Man's World" and some Italian song with James Brown. I was pretty relieved that Luciano didn't try to sing "It's a man's world" in his thick accent.

I was a small child during the 80s, and my parents listened almost exclusively to super folky music. So I'm learning about 80s pop music as an adult. I really love so much about it, the colors, the absurdist whimsy, and there's definitely parallels between Reagan's time & 45's. Anyway here's a band I just heard of this year: Wang Chung. Christie Malry Ⓐ ☭@SallyStrange new wave was just a catch all term for post punk i think the real world only used it for a week in 1977 but the newspapers picked it up and described anything they couldn't readily identify, (which being run by old gits born in the 20's was most things) in the '80's as new wave, so the line translates as '' everyone yellow bell tonight'' interesting, i always wondered
