As some followers know, I spent a month last winter solstice season as a writer in residence at #WupatkiNationalMonument. C & I stayed in the house where my family lived when I was a young kid, & it was a truly incredible opportunity to reconnect with this special place.

🧵

The first publication to come from my time as an artist in residence at my childhood home at #WupatkiNationalMonument in #Arizona went live today. This is part of a larger project on mobility, conservation, and extraction; the piece felt unfinished when I submitted it, which I now see is because it's much longer. This piece engages, very literally, with concepts of residency: how we live where we do, & how we understand those places.

They Were Here First

Today is Indigenous Peoples Day, marking a day to reflect on and celebrate the people of America, who, quite literally, were here first and are still here, to this day.
