Ozzie looks at me, hoping for some carrots. None on me.

#Woolies keep freezing their 5kg bags of carrots & it makes them go off very quickly.

The #alpacas & #sheep weathered the storms okay. No branches down on their trees. Water troughs all topped up by nature. 👍

Disingenuous maths on woolies' behalf here. I haven't saved $32 in a month by paying for a year's worth of free deliveries. I've saved $8, since I always pick a $2 delivery slot regardless of having a "delivery unlimited" subscription. They use a different number to calculate the service-affirming value they send in the billing emails.

Dodgy.

Coles plans to deploy data company Palantir’s tools across more than 840 supermarkets to cut costs and “redefine how we think about our workforce”. At a time of increased food insecurity, Australians should question if this is the right direction, writes Luke Munn.

My 2pm - 5pm #Woolies #delivery just updated to 8:15pm as the estimated delivery time.

Yup. I ordered hundreds of $25.52 watermelons! 😂😆🤣

Nothing much coming. Just pantry stuff. I can wait for it.

@mojo @John when we used to grow watermelon it was always as a filler crop because they're almost worthless to farmers. They're big and heavy so picking and transport ate most of the farm price, and if you had to pay for water that didn't help.

But supermarkets like them because they're rugged and have a decent shelf life (plus most people can't tell so will buy unripe or overripe ones)

@John A $25 watermelon from Woolies, while farmers are paid pennies. Meanwhile, the same corporate food system exports Aussie beef to Japan for half the price it's sold here in our own supermarkets.
This isn't about inflation — it's about exploitation. It's a rigged system where farmers are squeezed, Australian shoppers are gouged, and corporate shareholders laugh all the way to the bank.
It's time to break the monopolies, regulate profiteering, and rebuild a food system that serves people — not just profits.

The world is broken #auspol

I was watching Glen & Friends Cooking on YouTube (https://youtu.be/gq0JCqgQZww?si=zH17iNWB0QEmvMRl) when he mentioned he had purchased 10lbs of #whiteonions for 2 #Canadian dollars at his supermarket for a recipe.

#Woolies sell white onions for 89 Australian cents - EACH!

We’re being massively ripped off.

#Woolies delivered 6 litres of #doublestrength vinegar yesterday morning.

I’ve been tempted to go spray the #thistles out back, but I feel safer when my better half is home, just in case my knees give out on me again.

My knees have been giving me grief since Thursday & my meds don’t seem to be helping with the pain.

I’ll go fill my sprayer though & get things ready for tomorrow.

#migraine is gone.

Shortly after tooting about it my #Woolies delivery arrived.

That’s when I found out my back is still very sore. The second I got out of bed to get dressed intense back pain.

I’m really convinced now that my #immunesystem is attacking my spine again.

Such is life.

We went shopping (Woolies didn’t supply all my order items) & as we walked outside to get in the car the storm hit us. lol.

Timing!
