Can't sleep. Lets try this one again (posted some months ago).

i use debian, have a windows partition only for DaVinci (and Magix, a 360 video editor, but i am prepared to give that one up).

I dont want to use the unix version of DaVinci (the mov and codec issue costs a lot of time in the long run, besides memory usage bloated and other cranky stuff).

Could not get davinci running on wine or bottles.

Other solutions (that don't involve more than a week, going back to university, or a dedicated linux distro).

I cant be the only person with this issue.

(please don't answer with a suggestion for yet another great open source video efitor. I need davinci.)

Met behulp van @usebottles heb ik zojuist even getest of Aldfaer werkt op Linux Mint. Lijkt prima te werken!

Wie währe es mal nen Sammeltread zu machen, welche #Windowssoftware die wegen teuer oft Illegal mit Crack genutzt wird ;-) oder auch andere, es gleichwertig oder Besser unter #Linux gibt ? Vieles kann man wegen open Source auch unter Windows nutzen bzw. testen

This is why I always push the idea of self-hosting your shit, and avoiding Windows except at a VM/RDP level.

I have some MP4s (also maybe some MKVs containing MP4) that I need to reduce in size from 1080p to 720p. Anyone know a good Windows app for that?

The Photos app refers me to ClipChamp these days, and that is a hellish concoction of tracking, unnecessary online logins and clunky "project" UI when all I want is a smaller copy of a file.
