Jim GenzanoFinished #willowseries . The writing was not great - things just seemed to happen for no reason except that that's what the plot required at that moment, and the dialog was often cheesy - but it was a fun fantasy adventure show, and provided a shot of nostalgia. There was diversity in the cast, a nice LGBTQ romance storyline without the usual tragic ending, and interesting and unexpected musical choices. I'm sad they canceled it. There were clearly plans for continuing the story.
UrsaWelp, #WillowSeries has not been renewed for a second season. To which I breathe a sigh of relief that the classic movie will suffer no more tarnish at the hands of hackey, sophomoric showrunner.

I have not spoken to a single living person who has seen the #willowseries and not been appalled by the lack of quality. The badness of the series goes beyond personal preference. There are visible faults in the narrative and art design and yet these fart sniffers are pontificating on all the emotional complexity and self representation in the show which has all the emotional resonance of a rotten pine board.

They did finally show a magical armor scene I've always wanted to see. Come on if you've been watching or even reading all this different fantasy stuff you know you wanted armor like that right?

YorglesWatching the new #Willowseries & have settled on a new rule for consuming the myriad #fantasy series of varying quality out there right now: imagine you're watching a #DND campaign.
This sets the bar for dialogue and plot at a reasonable height, provides some classic archetypes for framing the characters, and helps manage expectation for tone. It's been super fun! (Also I am 90% sure the writers had #5e in mind anyway when working on #Willow)
