No dystopian "user friendly" cloud shit please...
wifi bridge has been stable for a couple days now.
I tweaked it to disable 802.11n and have both ends only speaking 802.11ac / 802.11ax after noting that one direction of the link was frequently falling back to 802.11n.
because of how the stock firmware works, the 5GHz SSID offered by the head end of the bridge is not exclusive to the bridge, in other words, other devices also connect to it (namely a laptop and phone) if they are within range. this isn't ideal but it's what's easily doable with stock firmware and once it's stable in my experience it works well.
at any rate, every device involved supports 802.11ac at a minimum, so I shut off 802.11n and we'll see if performance and/or stability improves.
there are other things which help #wifibridge stability on #glinet gear, mostly having to do with getting all the wifi and security settings identical on both ends of the bridge before you actually set up the bridge using the stock firmware UI.
