On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists from al-Qaeda hijacked four domestic civil airliners in the United States. Among them, United Airlines Flight 93 was the last one to take off.
The basic itinerary: This flight was originally scheduled to fly from Newark International Airport in New Jersey to San Francisco International Airport. After being delayed, it took off at 8:42 a.m. There were a total of 37 passengers and 7 crew members on board, including 4 hijackers.
Hijacking and Resistance: About 46 minutes after takeoff, the hijackers took control of the plane and steered it towards Washington D.C.
