#vinecutters Today I got permission from #NYCParkStewards to use my manual #hedgeShears when working on invasive vines. I first used hedge shears while working with the #HastingsOnHudsonVineSquad. They are great for cutting through a mass of invasive vines that are not thick enough for hand shears or loppers. Not having them is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
A #TwitterMigration #introduction I suppose. Not a full-time member of any org but work with many. Very wide ranging so sometimes consider myself as glue. Passionate about water, sealife, biking, transit, streets, plants, parks, gardens, climate change, renewables, politics. Also known for #openWaterSwimming in most waterways. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/11/nyregion/the-hudson-swimmer.html

The Hudson Swimmer

Ira Gershenhorn routinely swims in the sometimes unsanitary Hudson River off Manhattan, to show people that, aside from the sewage, the water’s great.
