Loki cannot be understood in isolation. He is an outsider, but one deeply embedded among the Aesir. He can simultaneously resolve and create mischief. His actions can uphold the order of society or turn it upside down.
I've looked at the origins of the Nine Worlds (Part I), taken a high-level view of Old Norse mores and views on fate (Part II), considered the characters of both Odin and Loki (Parts III and IV), and discussed the social and physical destruction of Fimbulvetr and Ragnarok (Part V).
Now, Part VI of the Master of Mischief series draws from all of these elements to expose the foppish Loki as the mirror image of powerful Odin and to help us better understand his role in the downfall of the gods.
