color me surprised: #eggy has covered jimmy eat world's the middle as many times as they've played keith jarrett's the windup (11x). guessing the windup has been teased many many more times, fwiw. working on a covers-centric episode of #ViceorVirtue with @Brian because it's been too damned long since my last pod!
just double-checked and #eggy tune tom corn walker has, indeed, never opened a show (or set) in its 19 performances since being written in late 2021. in latest episode of #viceorvirtue i suggest the band open a show with this british rock band cosplay tune about the depths and pliability of parental love. oh, and corn. it's still mainly about corn. the jamming 9 min into the 10-16-22 version discussed is a glimpse into the future of the digital, ethereal, ambient side of #eggy.
Stumbled onto this early 2022 @nugsnet show via the @chris playlist from yesterday and it’s incredible. Plans are in the works to pod about this for #ViceorVirtue with Neal from @aatgoosepod who attended! Bureatles debut, huge and exploratory jams in Bubagum, Shells, and Ricky Gervais, and a superb Saint of Circumstance cover debut that weaves in and out of Onitsuka Tiger.

Episode 9 of #Eggy podcast #ViceorVirtue is out and focuses on jams from Fall 2022. I was surprised at #1 Jake’s use of Chase Bliss pedals (not necessarily the Mood), #2 the quality of the band’s listening, and #3 how they pull from and incorporate other melodies to navigate the depths of improvisation, but it never feels derivative. My takeaway from Fall 2022: the band was already really damn good!
