Ordered some rainbow cotton banding, fucking lazy postie left it sat on a ledge outside rather than in the actual door. Must have been a temp as usual postie wouldn't do that. Found it earlier this morning.

So now I have wet rainbow banding. It'll dry... ๐Ÿคท

This is to combine with some EMF2024 fabric for a hopefully fairly simple sewing quest I have given Kat.

We have a fairly large amount of EMF "duck" fabric as that me who died last year bought it for that whole doomed pub thing in that whole other lifetime ago. It was going to be for sound panels. Now I need to think of other good uses for it. Anyone got any good #utilikilt patterns? Has always intrigued me as a concept.

A little update on this one, I found something suitable: https://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f144/x-kilt-sew-your-own-manual-available-download-20085/

This is the exact style I want to make and while it isn't a nice tissue pattern, it is a comprehensive 60 page sewing manual to guide you through the entire process.

Hopefully I can distill it down to a shorter form for easier reference. On the face of it, the whole garment looks to be made from carefully folded rectangles, and great if you like maths. I do not like maths.

X-Kilt: Sew Your Own, manual available for download

FINAL NOTE: 10/20/09: FINAL VERSION (2nd edition) OF THE MANUAL IS NOW UPLOADED AND IS AVAILABLE AT THE URL GIVEN IMMEDIATELY BELOW http://xmarksthescot.com/Xkilt2ndedRevK.pdf That link is current as of November, 2015. That link, above, refers to the SECOND EDITION (the final edition) ...the stuff below here is an excerpt from the very first post in this thread from August 2006.

Does anyone out there have a good utilikilt pattern? I've got a few years experience sewing so it doesn't have to be a beginner pattern. Ideally I want something that's going to make up well in leather or a heavier wool and have provision for a belt. Pockets would be nice too.

Ideally supplier should be in the UK if possible and I'd prefer a pre-printed pattern rather than a print-your-own-adventure type.

Boosts appreciated too.

Ta!
