We had a good discussion on specific competencies for applied mathematics research software engineers. Anything we forgot?
It is a pleasure to present @joss at the @us_rse conference 2024 in Albuquerque this evening. Please come to the poster session and learn more about JOSS.
This poster presents the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS), a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on publishing high-quality software papers related to open-source software. JOSS provides a platform for researchers, developers, and contributors to share their software tools, libraries, and frameworks with the wider scientific community. Each submission undergoes rigorous peer review to ensure that the software is well-documented, appropriately licensed, and of high quality. The journal welcomes submissions from all scientific disciplines and encourages authors to make their code openly available for others to use, modify, and build upon. JOSS aims to promote transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration in scientific research by providing a trusted venue for disseminating open-source software. Through its commitment to open access and open science principles, JOSS plays a vital role in advancing scientific discovery and innovation.
Two things:
- I successfully defended my PhD dissertation on Friday! Maybe I can finally start having a life again...
- I'm in ABQ for US-RSE'24 (#usrse #usrse24 @us_rse) and compiled this Google Maps list (46 places!) from the "What to do in ABQ" presentation by Miranda Mundt posted ~three weeks ago. Thanks Miranda for the great recommendations!
@ me if it needs edits or if you'd like to be added as editor. Looking forward to the conference!
