I was a kid in 1976 but I remember the 200th celebrations of #usindependence in Ireland.

It was a great celebration for a fantastic country. As a kid, I was enthralled. It was a country that held my imagination. It encompassed my hopes and dreams. In school, there were maps and charts to colour, and celebrations of US culture.

The #US250 #independence? Not so much.

In fact, my kids don’t even talk about it.

If that’s not a reflection of the decline of the #us in 50 years, nothing is.
