I like electric cars but ppl do love to ignore the major issues w them. Like, okay, road trip example:

Petrol car: Plan to go on road trip. Get in car, go, no planning rly needed. Getting low on petrol. Pull into petrol station. Add fuel. Keep going after 10 min. Repeat in 300-400 miles. If out of fuel 2-3 miles from station? $10 gas can and a walk.

E-car: Plan to go on toad trip. Research charging stations on the way to make sure there are some where needed. Get in car after major route planning. Getting low on electrics. Frantic search for charging station. Hope station works. Hope not all taken by other cars. Hope it has right connector. Hope it isn't super slow charge. Hope price isn't exploitative. Start charging. Keep going after 30-60 min. Repeat in 125-250 miles. And if out of electrics 2-3 miles from station? Tow truck, hundreds of dollars and utter shame.

City stuffs, electric is good. For ppl who like adventuring into not cities or into random places, no... electric cars are kind of trash.

Listen, fellow progressives/liberals: it's hard to swallow (I know because it's me) but identifying as a member of the side of the culture war that identifies #authoritarianism, #conformity, #groupthink, #tribalism, etc. doesn't mean we're immune to those things. Not in the least.

It also doesn't mean you know what "cognitive dissonance" or "fragile masculinity" actually mean, but maybe those are separate issues. The main point is: Physican Cure Thyself is something we should almost all be told on a regular basis.
