Czasami scam da się udaremnić przez proste trzymanie się procedur.

Mam w rodzinie osobę 80+ prowadzącą biuro dla lokalnej organizacji. Parę dni temu powiedziała, że przyszedł email o odnowieniu domeny od ich hostingu, miała problem ze znalezieniem faktury (podejrzane, mogłem od razu zapytać) ale sobie poradziła. Ok.

Dziś przyszła poprosić o pomoc w przesłaniu operatorowi hostingu emaila ze scamem podszywającego się pod nich! Okazuje się, że co prawda nie rozpoznała scamu (wysłany z gmaila, ale akurat ich skrzynka pocztowa nieszczęśliwie pokazuje tylko tekstowy podpis nadawcy a nie faktyczny adres), ale też nie kliknęła wielkiego linku "kliknij tutaj, by zapłacić" (możliwe, że już wtedy zablokowanego przez #pihole albo #uBlockOrgin) - zamiast tego zrobiła przelew na znany, stały numer konta firmy.

Firma skontaktowała się z powrotem z zapytaniem, za co ta nierozpoznana przez nich płatność. Ukłony dla seohost.pl za solidne podejście.

I tylko jeszcze myślę, komu cholera opłaca się robić indywidualnie dopasowany scam, żeby wyłudzić 18 zł?

When web sites undergo massive changes (including updates to T&Cs), it usually means that somebody else has got involved, and things like tracking and data-mining are going to occur.

Got notification of a site I use being updated. 🙁

Tentatively, I logged in, and started poking around. Counters on #uBlockOrgin and other safety plugins remained empty. That is, no tracking, advert and whatnot, blocked.

The update then, appears to be just that. How #refreshing. 👍 😋
