Not a fix but might help meanwhile:

If you "collapse" a toot, all its boosts will remain collapsed as well. In fact "collapsing" *could* (or should?) mean you don't wish to see any of it anymore, but again some might find seeing reboosts informative.

Also, the culling of repeats should be thoughtfully configurable since it's easy to miss sections of feed for millions of reasons.
